Sealey goes above and beyond, providing so many opportunities for students to thrive.
When my son transferred to Sealey Elementary to begin second grade, he was on the lowest reading level. I honestly thought he would have to be retained, but hoped Sealey would be a good fit for him. With the interventions and extra help Sealey's teachers provided, he was able to reach his reading grade level and excel. He is now in middle school with A's and B's; and I can accredit his middle school success to the foundational structure established while at Sealey Elementary. Being a "Sealey Superstar" helped him to become a responsible and independent learner.
When we learned our son needed a little "extra help” in school, we sought to find a school that would be able to work with him. A fellow church member recommended we try Sealey Elementary. We were hesitant, but after receiving rave reviews about Mrs. Clemons and her administration, we sought out Sealey using school choice. It has been the best decision we have EVER made for him! Since being at Sealey, our son has progressed, both academically and emotionally, making A/B Honor Roll consistently, participating in extracurricular activities, and he adores his teachers and the staff. Mrs. Clemons and the administration, teachers, and staff at Sealey are overwhelmingly caring, paying special attention to each and every student, going above and beyond the call of duty.

Teacher of The Year 2019–2020
Named in Honor of Romero Mitchell Sealey
Sealey Elementary Math and Science Magnet School has a long and rich history. The original name was Sealey Memorial Elementary School and it was located on the site of the present Tallahassee Police Department. It remained in this location from 1930-1971. Sealey was named in honor of Romero Mitchell Sealey, who served as Superintendent of Tallahassee City Schools, State Supervisor of Secondary Education and Executive Secretary of the Florida Education Association.
In 1969, construction began for a new Sealey School at 2815 Allen Road. In 1970, Sealey was moved into the newly constructed building where it still stands strong today. Although Sealey's location and name changed over the years, the quality of instruction never wavered.
