Welcome to Sealey Elementary School Math & Science Magnet

I am the very proud principal of Sealey Elementary Math and Science Magnet School. Sealey is a small, family orientated school located on the North West side of Leon County. We are very proud of our school community and the unique opportunities that we offer to our students. Sealey is a safe place where all students are accepted and encouraged to reach high expectations with the support and guidance of our teachers, staff and administrative team. At Sealey, we understand the importance of working closely alongside parents to ensure the success of our students. We value the relationships that are created within our Sealey Family and with the community, knowing the winner of these collaborative partnerships are OUR STUDENTS! We humbly ask that you consider Sealey when deciding on a school for your child/children. We will not disappoint you.

School History

Named in Honor of Romero Mitchell Sealey

Sealey Elementary Math and Science Magnet School has a long and rich history. The original name was Sealey Memorial Elementary School and it was located on the site of the present Tallahassee Police Department. It remained in this location from 1930-1971. Sealey was named in honor of Romero Mitchell Sealey, who served as Superintendent of Tallahassee City Schools, State Supervisor of Secondary Education and Executive Secretary of the Florida Education Association.

In 1969, construction began for a new Sealey School at 2815 Allen Road. In 1970, Sealey was moved into the newly constructed building where it still stands strong today. Although Sealey's location and name changed over the years, the quality of instruction never wavered.
